With a proud legacy spanning over five decades, SFT has consistently delivered cutting-edge and reliable solutions that safeguard ports, harbors, terminals, and offshore structures around the world.

SPC Cone Fender

The SPC Cone Fender is an efficient rubber fender type that is used in various applications. It has a conical body and fully rubber-embedded mounting flanges. Its refined geometry and conical shape result in a number of outstanding performance characteristics.

Characteristics

  • Exceptionally good energy absorption to reaction force ratio (E/R)
  • Outstanding energy absorption per fender weight
  • High shear stability
  • No loss of performance up to 10° approach angle
  • Sophisticated and optimised fender geometry
  • Optional overload stopper

Applications

  • Container & Bulk Terminals
  • Oil & Gas Terminals
  • General Cargo Terminals
  • Cruise Terminals
  • Ferry & RoRo Terminals
  • Navy

FE Element Fenders

The FE Element Fenders are fully moulded rubber legs with embedded mounting plates. Based on V Fenders but with separate legs, FE Element Fender provides high layout flexibility when installed behind steel panels or where mounting space is limited.

Characteristics

  • Good energy absorption to reaction force ratio (E/R)
  • High energy absorption per fender weight
  • Modular and compact design with a small footprint
  • Vertical and horizontal mounting, typically in pairs
  • Pile Fender design may use single units
  • Easy maintenance & replacement

Applications

  • Container & Bulk Terminals
  • General Cargo Terminals
  • RoRo Terminals
  • Navy
  • Barge

Cylindrical Fender

The Cylindrical Fender was the first rubber fender type to be produced with a defined performance. Installation is simple by using chains, bars, ropes or specially designed ladder brackets, depending on the fender size and substructure. The Cylindrical Fenders‘ proportional increase of reaction force and energy absorption to the rated deflection is an advantage, resulting in softer berthing.

Cylindrical Fenders are available extruded and wrapped, depending on the size. They are available in outside diameters up to 2,700 mm and inside diameters ranging from 50 to 1,300 mm, variable in length up to 20 m.

All Cylindrical Fenders could be delivered with the respective fixings (chains, brackets, support bar, ladder brackets).

Pneumatic Fender

The Pneumatic Fender is an abrasion-resistant rubber fender filled with high-pressure air. It can easily be deflated, which allows simple and cost-effective relocation and re-commissioning in other locations.

Pneumatic Fenders are available in diameters ranging from 300 mm to 4,500 mm and lengths ranging from 500 mm to 9,000 mm, as well as special sizes.

Characteristics

  • Proportional increase of energy and reaction
  • Low hull pressure
  • Economical solution
  • Easily deflatable to be used in different locations and to be stored on the deck of vessels
  • Built as per ISO 17357-1:2014

Applications

  • In ports with extreme tidal variations
  • Ship-to-ship lightering operations
  • Oil & Gas (typically FSRU)
  • Temporary berthing

Parallel Motion Fenders

Parallel Motion Fenders are individually engineered systems. A turning lever arm (torsion arm) is mounted between the back structure (concrete or steel) and the frontal steel panel. The arm restrains the panel movement during the entire fender compression, allowing it to move only parallel to its mounting, irrespective of impact level and angle.

Characteristics

  • Equal energy absorption capacity at any impact level
  • The torsion-resistant arm of the system allows only parallel panel movements and eliminates a second ship/panel contact
  • Reaction forces could be substantially lower for a back-to-back rubber unit configuration
  • Lower reaction forces lead to lower hull pressures and lighter substructure, which reduces the overall project cost

Applications

  • Bulk Terminals
  • Oil & Gas Terminals
  • Ferry & RoRo Terminals
  • Monopiles
  • Load-sensitive structures

Hydropneumatic Fender

The Hydropneumatic Fender is a special version of the Pneumatic Fender developed for submarines. Hydropneumatic Fenders are partially filled with water and air and are equipped with a counterweight in order to keep them in a vertical position. This ensures that the submerged hull is properly protected by the fender at all times.

Hydropneumatic Fenders require some special installation techniques to be installed. The performance of Hydropneumatic Fenders is affected by the air: water ratio and the initial pressure.

Characteristics

  • Submerged contact area
  • Low hull pressure
  • Adjustable draft
  • Movable

Applications

  • Submarine Jetties
  • Certain Ferry Types
  • Oil Rigs

Ocean Guard Fender (Foam Fenders)

The Ocean Guard Fender is a foam fender, designed based on a heat laminated 100% closed cell foam core and a tough and thick nylon filament reinforced polyurethane skin and embedded end fittings. Ocean Guard Fenders convince with high energy absorption, hull conforming capabilities, non-marking skin and low maintenance.

Ocean Guard Fenders are available in diameters from 500 mm to 4,500 mm and lengths from 800 mm to 10,600 mm, in different foam hardness grades, as well as special shapes and sizes. The fenders could be installed with a two or four-point mounting system, depending on the application.

Characteristics

  • Proportional increase of energy and reaction
  • Extremely robust
  • No performance loss and unsinkable even if damaged
  • Smaller skin damages can easily be repaired on-site
  • Low hull pressure and non-marking Polyurethane skin

Applications

  • Navy vessel berths and cruise terminals
  • Ship-to-ship operations
  • Ship-to-shore operations
  • Oil & Gas Terminals

Roller Fender/Wheel Fender

The Roller Fender is generally built from an energy-absorbing elastomer unit which is mounted onto a single rotating shaft. This unit is designed with maintenance-free bearings, typically made from stainless steel and composite materials.

Roller Fenders can be installed in various combinations, such as:

  • Stacked double or triple fenders to cover larger heights in tidal areas
  • Side by side to guide the vessel through a narrow passage
  • Installed at an angle to cater for the flare angles of the vessel hull

Applications

  • Entrance to locks, dry docks and other narrow or exposed areas
