Dry Cryogenic Couplings (DCC)

MannTek QCDC (DCC)  The coupling is suitable for the loading and un­load­ing of cryo­genic liq­ue­fied gases, such as LNG, nitrogen, oxygen, argon, ethylene, down to -196° C. 

 

A quick and safe con­nec­tion of hoses and loading arms under pressure and with min­i­mized product loss. During the cool down phase no retight­en­ing of the con­nec­tion is nec­es­sary as prac­ticed with flanged or threaded con­nec­tions.
Dry Cryo­genic Cou­plings ac­cord­ing to ISO 21593 and ISO TS 18683.


  • Size from: 1” to 8”

Cryogenic Breakaway Couplings

 MannTek Cryo­genic break­away cou­plings (CBC) are used to avoid spillage and damage as­so­ci­at­ed with drive and/or pull away in­ci­dents when loading and un­load­ing. The CBC cou­plings are designed to be the weakest link of the hose line or loading arm. 


The Cryo­genic break­away cou­plings are suitable for cryo­genic liq­ue­fied gases, such as LNG, nitrogen, oxygen, argon, ethylene, down to -196° C.

Avail­able in breaking pin version (marine and in­dus­tri­al type) and cable release version.


  • Size from:1”-8” for breaking pin, 2”-8” for cable release.
  • Material: Stainless Steel.
  • Seals: PTFE seals.
  • Working pressure25 bars.

Powered Emergency Release Coupling (PERC)

Highest safety level, three ways of release

  1. 1. Release by ESD-signal.
  2. Release by manual override, independent of electrical signal.
  3. Reverting from nitrogen activated to passive breaking pin. Breaking pins designed to be the weakest point of hose or manifold.


Ability to actively and remotely release the coupling without strain on the transfer system.


An active safety device but in the event of a ‘Black out’ has the back up of becoming a passive Break Away Coupling.


Designed to protect the man­i­folds in any sit­u­a­tion.

Vessel Separation Device (VSD)

  •  Three wire system with three pendants of different length.
  • The first wire (shortest) is a trip wire that can initiate an audible and/or visual alarm to warn of vessel movement.
  • At a pre determined distance the second wire (middle length) is activated and initiates the ESD 1 signal. This signal is taken into on board ESD system shutting pumps and closing ESD valves.
  • At a pre determined distance, the third wire (longest) will activate, initiating the ESD 2 signal which is sent into the HPN2 PERC release unit, via the on board ESD system, activating the PERC.

PERC Control Unit

PLC version for automated control:

  • Software programmed under supervision of 3rd party.
  • Monitors system during whole bunkering/transfer operation.
  • Eliminates human factors and ensures all steps and periodical tests are carried out.


SIL2 version:

  • Assessed by DNV-GL and certified to SIL2.
  • Developed under IEC 61511 and IEC 61508.
  • Identifying mean time between failure and probability of failure on demand.
  • Identifying all safety instrumented functions.
  • Achieving minimum probability of failure on demand compliant to SIL2.
  • SIL2 compliance covers the entire Methanol transfer system.
