Quick release mooring hooks are a valuable safety feature for oil and gas tankers, FSRUs, FPSOs, and other marine vessels. In fact, they can be quickly and easily released, even under load. This makes them especially useful in demanding maritime situations, where safety and reliability are essential.
Straatman is the leading supplier of quick release hooks. Our hooks are designed to guarantee safe and efficient mooring operations at oil, gas, chemical, iron, coal, and grain terminals. We offer a wide range of options to meet your specific needs, including electric-hydraulic release mechanisms, load monitoring, remote control, and rope keepers.
During LNG, oil, and chemical transfers, the Ship-Shore Link is essential for safety. It helps prevent risks such as fires, explosions, and environmental hazards. The main function of the SSL system is to enable an emergency shutdown of both the ship and shore facilities at the same time whenever an issue is detected by the Safety Instrumented System (SIS) on either side.
Straatman’s SafeCom Ship-to-Shore Link is a high-quality system, customized to meet specific client needs. Since the ship shore link is crucial during LNG, oil, and chemical transfers, we offer various sizes and configurations. Additionally, we provide standby services for extra reliability.
Until now it has not been possible to measure the load on mooring lines using a bollard. The lack of exact load data for moored vessels means that ports have to assume maximum mooring loads. For the Port Authority and Terminal Operator it is important to know exactly what the loads on the mooring lines are, especially in case of bad weather, with high waves, strong currents, and gusts. If the loads on the lines are too high the ropes can break and the ship will detach from the quay, which may cause serious accidents.
The use of Smart Bollards can prevent this from happening. They increase safety by giving a real-time overview of the loads on the mooring lines, and provide a better understanding of overall mooring forces as data is logged.
Enhance your mooring system with a variety of optional extras and custom components. From electric-hydraulic release mechanisms to advanced load monitoring systems, remote control capabilities, and convenient rope keepers, we offer a comprehensive array of add-ons to optimize performance.
